Bees & Honey
South Downs Honey was inspired through discovering a wild bee colony successfully nesting and producing honey in the woodshed on our farm. This naturally led to our interest and passion for sustainable provision of habitat and a safe environment for them to thrive here.
When we learnt that 1/3 of all the food we eat relies on Bee’s – we were sure that these incredible little creatures are vital to the health and survival of our planet.
With kind help and guidance from our neighbour who was already well established with keeping his own Bee’s, we began our own Bee hospitality efforts and mindfulness.
We joined the local Bee Keeping Association and shortly afterwards South Downs Honey was up and running.
Honey from Local Bee’s may be beneficial to you if you have allergies.
Our Raw Honey is unprocessed – therefore maintains optimum natural properties and richness.
“Conventional Honey typically found in supermarkets has been processed and may have been blended and boiled, reducing the natural properties and also look out as it may not originate from the UK“
If you fancy coming to see the Bees and having a weekend in the South Downs, why not have a look at our Holiday Cottage.
